<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">One great thing about finding the book community on social
media has been learning more about new releases. I have never really been a reader
that pays attention to new releases or feels the need to go out and buy a book
as soon as it comes out. Over the past year that has changed. I think it is
thanks to finding the Booktube and <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Bookstagram
community! I have been in the mood for thrillers lately and I want to share 5
thrillers that are coming out (or have already come out) this year that I am
super excited for because I have read other books by these authors that I
enjoyed.</span></div>
<ol style="direction: ltr; list-style-type: decimal;">
<li style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh (Released on
3/13/18)-I have already purchased this one and I can’t wait to get to it. I
read I Let You Go by her earlier this year and I could not put it down. It had
a fun twist that I did not see coming so I can’t wait to read more by her! </div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
All The Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson (Released
today 4/3/18!) I recently read Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson and this one was
another one I couldn’t put down. I also really want to read A Kind Worth
Killing because I have heard great things about that one as well.</div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell (4/17/18)- I
have not read a book by Lisa Jewell before but this one is a Book of The Month pick
for April and it intrigued me. Also, the cover is beautiful and yes I do judge
a book by its cover.</div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware
(5/29/18)- I have read all three of Ruth Ware’s previous books and I was excited
when I found out she was coming out with another one. </div>
</li>
<li style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris (6/19/18)- I have
read both The Breakdown and Behind Closed Doors. Both gave me this sense of
unease and panic and when I read a thriller I enjoy that feeling. Excited to
check her next one out! </div>
<div style="color: black; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 11pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; margin-bottom: 8pt; margin-top: 0in;">
</div>
</li>
</ol>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">This year is a great one for new thriller releases and I’m
so excited for all these books! </span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Happy Reading!</span></div>

It is not often that I re-read books, even ones that I love. I first read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak about 5 years ago and I loved it the first time around. One of my favorite genres is historical fiction, particularly books set in World War II. This year I have been more interested in re-reading books, especially some of my favorites.<br />
<br /><br />
The first time I read The Book Thief, I read the physical copy. Last week when I discovered the audiobook was on my library's free app, I decided to listen to it. I've been wanting to re-read The Book Thief since it has been so long since I read it the first time. I loved the narrator and all the dialogue was wonderful! I have to say this book is on my list of all time favorites. While the book is sad and emotional, it is also witty and heartwarming. I love the relationship between Liesel and her foster father. I also love the relationship between Liesel and Max. <br />
<br /><br />
I also feel like this book is a book for book lovers. The beginning of the book focuses on Liesel's journey with learning to read and discovering her love for books. I am going to include one of my favorite quotes from the book below that is from the beginning of the book. I highly recommend this book (especially the audiobook)!<br />

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri";">Hello Readers!</span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri";"><span style="font-family: "calibri";">One of my favorite parts of reading is discussing books with
other readers! I feel like you can have an instant connection with someone who
loves one of your favorite books! Over the past year I have really enjoyed
watching videos on Youtube related to books (also known as booktube) but now I
have discovered a whole new community of book lovers. </span></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: "calibri";">I’ve heard people mention Modern Mrs. Darcy in the past but
I had never read the blog. I was watching a booktube video and the What Should
I Read Next (WSIRN) podcast was mentioned. I immediately looked up the podcast and
listened to her most recent episodes and I was hooked immediately! <span style="font-family: "calibri";">Since then I
have binge-listened to about 20 episodes and I am hooked!</span></span></div>

I read 71 books and I read a lot of books that had been on my to-read list for a long time. I want to set some different reading goals for myself for 2018. This year I felt I put a lot of pressure on myself to finish books quickly and I focused on the number of books I was reading too much. I read a lot of thrillers and books I knew I would probably get through fairly quickly. That being said, 2017 was still a really good reading year and I even listened to my first audiobooks (shocking)! In 2018, I don't want to focus so much on how many books I'm reading but on reading books that I enjoy and branching out a little bit in my genres. Quality over quantity is my focus!<br />
<br />
Here are my 2018 reading goals:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Read 50 books</li>
<li>Read more classics</li>
<li>Read more non-fiction </li>
<li>Read longer books on my to-read list</li>
<li>Re-read Harry Potter </li>
</ul>
<br />
<br />
Happy New Year!<br />

<br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">For as long as I can remember I have loved to read. When I
was little my grandfather would always get me a gift certificate to a local
bookstore for my birthday and/or Christmas and I would spend hours browsing the
shelves selecting the perfect books. I also remember summers
spent sitting on our porch swing and reading for hours at a time. To me, there
is nothing quite like getting lost in a story. I created this blog to
share my love for reading and to interact with other readers.</span></div>
